Theo Grüntjens

Forestry engineer, Wildlife photographer

Theo Grüntjens, born in 1953 at the Lower Rhine, is an experienced forestry engineer whose life’s work reflects the harmonious integration of nature conservation, forestry, and wildlife population management. As the head of the forestry department of the Rheinmetall Group in the Lower Saxony heath, he was able to implement his vision: a concept that combines ecologically sustainable nature conservation with economic use and a ethical wildlife management strategy. Theo regularly shares his knowledge and experiences through lectures and appearances on TV shows.

Additionally, he is the co-author of the book Faszination Birkhuhn: Die letzten Ritter der Heide (Fascination of the Black Grouse: The Last Knights of the Heath), which highlights the dramatic decline of the black grouse population and the need for species conservation. In Heideland, another book, he documents the fascinating flora and fauna of the heath and advocates for the protection of this endangered landscape. Theo Grüntjens’ work inspires a commitment to preserving the delicate balance of nature and taking our responsibility for the environment seriously.
