    Sampriti: Empowering Women, Restoring Landscapes

    • India
The Sampriti programme addresses the biodiversity and climate crises in Northeast India and Bhutan, where deforestation and wetland degradation threaten two global biodiversity hotspots. Through a scalable conservation model, the programme engages over 14,000 indigenous women in ecosystem restoration, bird rescue, tree planting, and cultural activities, benefiting 50,000 people and restoring 5,000 hectares of land. By integrating conservation with economic empowerment, the initiative has improved livelihoods, trained 2,000 youth, and reached 30,000 children through environmental education.
