Han Ypes
Volunteer Coordinator
Han Ypes was born in Indonesia and spent the first 10 years of his life in South Africa, where his love for nature was nurtured through extensive travels to the countryside and visits to game parks. After completing his education at the Tropical Agriculture College Deventer and Nijenrode Business University, he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Geneva for 10 years. In 1997, he founded his own waste recycling company, and over the past two decades, he has been involved in several waste-to-oil and waste-to-hydrogen projects. Throughout this time, Han became increasingly aware of the damage being inflicted on the planet. He believes that programs like “Rewilding Our World” and the re-introduction of indigenous animals are crucial for ecosystem health. Han is committed to passing on the message of environmental stewardship to future generations, believing that the hope for change lies with them.
