Sanskriti Barman is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.Tech in Biotechnology at Gauhati University, with a strong passion for environmental conservation and youth engagement. She co-founded and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of The Hargila Desk , an international youth-led magazine advocating for community-based conservation and climate action. The publication focuses on the critically endangered Greater Adjutant Stork (Hargila) and aims to inspire global awareness and action for biodiversity preservation.

A dedicated conservationist since childhood, Sanskriti has been actively involved in the Hargila conservation movement in Assam. Her contributions span bird rescue operations, nest monitoring, community outreach, and participation in documentaries and conferences. She also co-founded the Eco Club at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Barsajai, where she mobilized students through citizen science initiatives, environmental campaigns, and creative events.

Sanskriti is a Founding Member of the Youth Advisory Board at the Rewilding Academy (Netherlands), contributing to curriculum development for the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Previously, she served as Creative Head for The Greenkeepers, a local youth organization, and co-hosted The Xeujiya Talks, a podcast celebrating Assam’s rich biodiversity and natural heritage.

Her achievements include academic excellence, leadership roles as House Captain and Student Committee Member at her school, and recognition at Model United Nations events and wildlife quiz competitions. A black belt in karate, she has excelled in district, state, and national tournaments. Sanskriti’s dynamic skill set encompasses leadership, communication, creative writing, public speaking, and time management.

Her vision centers on fostering a sustainable planet by empowering youth and communities to protect nature and wildlife. Through her initiatives and collaborations, Sanskriti continues to be a driving force in conservation and climate advocacy.
