Youth Board Member

Karishma Das is a young conservationist deeply committed to community-based conservation and the integration of social science and social work into species protection. Over the past three years, she has been actively involved in grassroots conservation efforts, with a strong focus on inclusive, community-led models.

Karishma works closely with women’s communities in Assam—a journey that has strengthened her dedication to fostering inclusive and women-led conservation initiatives. She is also passionate about youth engagement and believes that empowering young people, particularly young girls, is essential to building a more sustainable future.

She has completed multiple internships in community-based conservation and proudly presented her work at the Women in Nature Network’s annual gathering in Nepal. Nature is both her greatest teacher and source of healing. A keen birdwatcher, Karishma looks forward to contributing meaningfully to the Rewilding Academy’s Youth Network by combining action, compassion, and inclusion at the grassroots level.
